Saint Andrew Church opened on Sunday, January 14, 1979, as Greene Street
Presbyterian West in the 100th year of the mother church. Church members over
the previous two and a half years created the Church facility from a government
surplus building that had been a part of Fort Gordon's Eisenhower Hospital. To
this was added a gift of a house by Dr. Ashburn P. Searcy which was moved to
the property from across Wheeler Road.
On January 1, 1991 at the Church's request, the West branch was divided by Northeast Georgia Presbytery from Greene Street Church and became Saint Andrew Presbyterian Church.
